200207 Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills

Date: February 7 – 8, 2020
Time:  Friday 7:00 pm – Saturday 5:30 pm.

Purpose:  This training experience will provide leaders with the basic outdoor skill information needed to start a Scouting program right.  This is the required outdoor training for all Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters.

Target Audience: Cub and Webelos leaders, Scoutmasters / Assistant Scoutmasters, and Venture leaders.

Cost:  $15

Purpose - Outdoor skills are critical to the success of the Scouting program.  This training experience will provide leaders with the basic outdoor skill information needed to start a program right.  This is the required outdoor training for all Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters.  The skills taught are based on the outdoor skills found in the Scouts BSA Handbook.  The course is also ideal for Venture leaders because it focuses on skills that build confidence and competence in leaders conducting outdoor camping experiences. Webelos leaders will learn about skills necessary to prepare Webelos to" cross-over" into a Scout troop.

Please bring to training the following items.

-  Scout Handbook                   - pocketknife                           - flashlight

-  notebook or pad                  - pen or pencil                         - compass

- if sleeping overnight, bring own cot & sleeping gear to sleep in the building

-  wear clothing appropriate for outdoor weather                 - knife, fork, and spoon
