National Youth Leadership Training

Baden Powells's vision of Boy Scouting was centered on the patrol method and youth leadership.  Having well-trained leadership within your troop or crew is an important part of providing agood experience for everyone involved. National Youth Leadership Training program (NYLT) provides youth leaders with valuable leadership and training experience.

NYLT teaches Scouts leadership skills and challenges them tothink about what it means to be a leader. Participants will be placed into patrols where they will work together using their skills of camping, fire building, cooking, and participating in leadership-building activities and presentations.

This program is an intense, challenging 6-day otudoor training course designed todeveloop unit youth leaders, ages 13 to 18 years old. It will prove to be a positive experience for your scouts as it will focus on what a leader must BE, wht a leader must KNOW, and what a leader must DO.

Prereguisites:  Be at least 13 by first day of course.  Mastered the skills and obtained rank of First Class.  Completed a week-long camping experience and one year of Scouting.  Obtained Scoutmaster or Crew Advisor permission to attend.  Complete BSA Health form parts A, B, and C.
