The 2007 Annual Report is Now Available Online
Quality Council: The Blue Ridge Mountains Council achieved Quality Council for 2007. Five districts also achieved Quality status. They are: Big Lick, Dan River, New River, and Piedmont. Congratulations and thank you everyone for all your hard work and help in making this happen!
New pictures of the Claytor Lake Aquatics Base are now available online!
Timber Cuts at the Blue Ridge Scout Reservation: After approval by the Council Executive Committee, the Conservation Committee has initiated two timber harvests on the Blue Ridge Scout Reservation. The two harvests will occur on Jersey Ridge and behind the King Ranch House. The contractor, MeadWestvaco, will be on-site for several months, into 2008.
The staff application form for the 2008 season on the Blue Ridge Scout Reservation is now available.
New Online Training Available: The BSA Online Learning Center now offers new training courses in an online format. These courses are: Boy Scout Leader Fast Start, Cub Scout Leader Fast Start, Safe Swim Defense, Safety Afloat, Troop Committee Challenge, Venturing Advisor Fast Start and Youth Protection Training. These trainings are available here and are also linked off our Council training page.
The state specialty BSA license plate effort has been reborn! Councils throughout Virginia are working together to collect at least 350 prepaid applications by July 31. Plates cost $10 or $20 if you want to personalize it. For more information on how to order click here.
Strategic Plan 2006-2010: The Council's new Strategic Plan is now available online in Microsoft PowerPoint format. This plan will guide the Council through 2010, the 100 year anniversary for the Boy Scouts of America. Please take a moment to review this plan. The file will take a moment to load.
